Pubblicato in Italia con il titolo La famiglia prima di tutto?. Fixie si prende sempre cura di tutti, ma quando comincerà a prendersi cura di se stessa?
I Owe You One is one of the stand-alone novels by Sophie Kinsella, the author of my all-time favorite Shopaholic series, and its protagonist is Fixie who lives life by her late father’s moral: “Family first!” which means that she does everything for her family, especially when it comes to the housewares store owned by them. She’s always happy to help, even a stranger who asks her to look after his laptop while he is in the restroom of a coffee shop. What follows is a collapsing ceiling, a quick save, and a long series of IOUs between her and the handsome stranger she met in the coffee shop.
Fixie is loyal and funny and she’s always taking care of others, putting herself last. Throughout the story, we see her develop and conquer her fears. There is romance, although it is not central to the story that focuses mostly on family dynamics, especially the relationship between Fixie and her siblings. I Owe You One is another witty and entertaining novel from one of my favorite authors that will make you laugh and warm your heart.
