A normal game of golf sends a young man and his intrepid friend chasing a killer in this fantastic novel by Agatha Christie. Bobby Jones is playing golf with a friend. He sends the ball over a cliff and looking down he sees a wounded man who, before dying, mutters: “Why didn’t they ask Evans?”. Initially confused by these final words, he discovers that something sinister is going on, so, together with his friend Frankie Derwent starts to investigate.
This novel reminded me a bit of the first book in the Tommy and Tuppence series, The Secret Adversary. Two friends involve themselves in a mystery, finding themselves in danger, but determined to discover the truth. An entertaining and gripping novel that kept me guessing until the end.
